Wayne Nez Gaussoin (Picuris/Dine' (Navajo))
About the Artist
Wayne is the youngest son of famed jeweler, Connie Tsosie Gaussoin. Like his brother, David, Wayne Nez grew up in his mother’s studio and benefited from her instruction. But his interests in photography, music, and fashion design have also inspired him to continually bring contemporary flair to the traditional foundations that he learned. He often incorporates non-traditional materials into his work and creates pieces that are as much fashion as jewelry. Last year, Wayne Nez was honored with a “Purchase Award” at Native Treasures, with one of his pieces purchased by the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture for its permanent collection.
