Camille Bernal (Taos Pueblo)
About the Artist
Camille is an experimenter--always exploring new forms, styles, and techniques to create pottery that is uniquely hers. Her love for ancient Egyptian art is often expressed in her designs featuring waterbirds, scarabs, and floral motifs. But she also draws inspiration from the spectacular scenery and hues of northern NM. Her love of playing with dirt and clay as a kid was later refined at IAIA, where she graduated in 2004. Her pieces might be carved, painted, or both. "The creative process is a way of discovering the unknown, allowing an intuitive flow that brings new forms and styles in my pottery," she explains. Native Treasures is the one of the few shows Camille participates in, so be sure not to miss her!
